FAQS

What can I expect during a Reiki session?

Reiki treatments are usually given with the client laying on a massage table but may also be given with the client seated or standing.  The client remains fully clothed.  The Reiki Practioner places their hands near or on the client in various hand positions, including positions around the head, shoulders, stomach and feet.  What each person experiences during a Reiki treatment varies from person to person. Feelings of deep relaxation are usually felt by all.  Some people report feeling lighter, feeling a glowing radiance surrounding them,  being in a peaceful state and/or a general state of  well-being.  Some people drift off to sleep.  At the end of the treatment many people report feeling relaxed, refreshed, lighter and/or with a more positive and in a balanced mental state.

How can Reiki help in conventional health care?
One of the benefits of Reiki is it promotes healing and helps to alleviate pain.  A growing number of health care practitioners and institutions, such as hospitals recognize and have implemented Reiki as a complimentary therapy.  For a list of institutions see here.

Note: Reiki practitioners do not diagnose medical conditions, perform medical treatments, prescribe substances nor interfere with the treatment of a licensed medical professional. It is recommended to see a licensed physician, or licensed health care professional for any physical or psychological ailment.
